Chemical Insights Research Institute (CIRI), of Underwriters Laboratories Research Institutes, is recruiting a Communications Coordinator to support the PR and amplification efforts for our organization. This role will be an integral part of the team in understanding all communications initiatives, aims, timelines, and desired outcomes. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Outreach and working closely with the PR and Amplification Manager, this role supports and conducts communications on our important research topics and CIRI’s goals/outcomes.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

  • A key function is to support technical content development for distribution to applicable audiences and conduct media relations.
  • Support the development of media and stakeholder lists and maintain contact databases
  • Work with outside vendors, as appropriate, to produce materials
  • Work closely with CIRI leadership and staff to best communicate the science to key stakeholders and understand how messages may change depending on audiences
  • Support conference, tradeshow and other and sponsorship needs (pre, during and post event) to include managing conference contacts and deliverables
  • Contribute to organizational success by performing other tasks as required

What makes you a great fit:

  • Marketing, communications, or related university degree with three to five years of related professional experience
  • Two or more years supporting a nonprofit, scientific or research organizationfocused on health, chemical, and/or pollution topics
  • Strong communication with demonstrated ability to translate technical information into meaningful content for multiple audiences
  • Experience in stakeholder communication and needs
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work proactively
  • Works with strategic purpose and approach and leads with a process improvement mindset
  • Passion for detail and managing multiple projects
  • Demonstrated experience and capability of working across multiple communications tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products
