We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Development Analyst at UL Standards and Engagement.

 

The IT Development Analyst supports the analysis, development, modification, testing and maintenance of systems software for UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE).  IT Development Analyst supports IT leadership and senior development professionals in the analysis of software and hardware system needs, options, risks, costs, and impact on business process and goals.  Evaluates supplied software products and applications.  Independently analyzes and isolates application issues and performs problem resolution.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

As the IT Development Analyst, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL Standards and Engagement as you:

  • Analyze system requirements, preparing of specifications, designing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting. Implements complex requirement for multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications.
  • Resolve problems by devising or modifying procedures, considering equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results when developing resolutions.
  • Support the identification of system requirements by interviewing users, interviewing and selecting vendors (if applicable), analyzing applications, evaluating existing and proposed systems, and recommending solutions.
  • Independently analyze and isolates application issues and performs problem resolution.
  • Work with application development and maintenance service providers to improve applications and resolve technical issues.
  • Monitor progress of software-based projects by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
  • Improve systems performance by investigating problems, developing specifications, identifying trends in technology, and recommending solutions.
  • Assist with formulating and defining specifications for software programming applications and modifies existing applications.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

The ideal candidate will bring several qualities to the team, including:

  • Strong working technical knowledge and/or IT development experience.
  • Strong working knowledge in Enterprise application or specific  program  language requirements of IT work.
  • Strong project management, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Ability to identify and rank priorities as demonstrated by the ability to establish, track, and meet schedules for multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service.
  • Strong customer service.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:

  • University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of directly related experience.
