We have an exciting opportunity for a Policy Insights Analyst at UL Standards & Engagement based in our Washington, D.C office.

 

The Policy Insights Analyst will conduct policy-focused market research, surveys, and analyses; compile and organize data from new and existing sources and databases; and monitor current safety legislation for UL Standards and Engagement (ULSE). The Policy Insights Analyst will examine the efficacy of existing legislative policies and lay out the groundwork for new programs and policy research to meet objectives and goals of the UL mission.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

As the Policy Insights Analyst, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you: 

  • Analyze information regarding current and emerging legislative policy and make recommendations to better meet evolving stakeholder needs and ULSE strategic insights objectives.
  • Interpret information to determine benefits and risks of legislative policies and their impact.
  • Examine strategies and goals to determine areas where policy focused market research can be applied.
  • Apply innovative research methodologies to prepare analysis of policy trends.
  • Gather data and produce reports on qualitative and quantitative analysis using effective visuals and written analysis summaries.
  • Analyze current and potential market trends and conditions.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

 Professional education and experience requirements for the role include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, social sciences, economics, statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in working in market research, legislative policy research and statistics is preferred.
  • Experience conducting online research and utilization of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Statistical Packages (SPSS or SAS), and Data Visualization tools (such as Tableau) preferred.
