We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Coordinator at UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement, based in our Evanston, IL office.

 

The Senior Human Resources Coordinator will support the human resources (HR) team in the development, implementation, and delivery of HR programs including employee onboarding, talent and performance management, employee relations, compensation, and learning and development. The Senior HR Coordinator supports day to day HR activities, supporting a positive employee experience and promptly responding to employee inquiries and requests.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

As the Senior Human Resources Coordinator, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:

  • Support members of the HR team in the development, implementation, and delivery of HR programs including employee onboarding, talent and performance management, employee relations, compensation, learning and development, and policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a first point of contact to receive and respond to internal and external HR related inquiries in a timely manner, escalate to the right contact(s), and follow up as appropriate.
  • Lead the implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities and work with the HR team to implement improvements to HR processes and employee experience.
  • Contribute to the development of new or revised programs and policies by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing research data, and making recommendations and suggestions for improvement.
  • Organize employee events and initiatives to promote employee engagement and a positive work culture.
  • Maintain information into the HCM system (Workday) to ensure data integrity and compliance, conduct audits and make associated corrections as appropriate. Prepare and distribute standard and ad-hoc reports.
  • Prepare HR-related documents, such as employment verification letters, disciplinary letters, and employee communications.
  • Contribute to other HR and organization-wide projects as appropriate.

 Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, Communication, or related discipline with one year of related HR experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office. Higher level skills in Excel and PowerPoint are a plus.
  • Experience working with a Human Capital Management (HCM) such as Workday, is a plus.
