We have an exciting opportunity for an Payroll Specialist at UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement based in our Evanston, IL office.   The Payroll Specialist, under general supervisor, supports administration of the payroll function for UL Research Institutes (ULRI) and UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE) completing runs of payroll cycles, balances, and reconciles payroll amounts, and verifies payroll data. The Payroll Specialist assists in balancing and reconciliation of payroll-related general ledger accounts and oversees compensation and ensures all payments are accurate and on time. Responsible for compiling periodic and special reports for internal and external sources. Testing, set-up and maintenance on earnings codes, deduction codes, and imports into the payroll system. Validate payroll run transfers correctly between systems.  Responsible for the garnishment process working with the payroll provider. Fix the Payroll Audit and Wage and Tax report differences each payroll. Assist with the month-end entity balancing of Payroll Register to W2s. Assist in quarter end and year end balancing.
